Welcome to forgewild
Started by a group of South Africans and a Canadian, we are an online media collective that strives to bring the global TTRPG community together through collaborative, inclusive, and accessible narratives via actual plays, podcasts, and more. We believe that storytelling is the ultimate act of shared discovery and creates a space where everyone belongs.
Step into the visceral, gritty landscape of Caldora, a world not built, but shattered by the fundamental friction between absolute order and primordial chaos. Experience this broken world firsthand through our upcoming high-immersion D&D 5.5e Actual Play podcast, where player agency is the primary engine for change in a setting where magic is a volatile predator.
Aurora Frequencies is a Sci-Fi audio podcast that explores the limits of human connection. The Aurora Frequencies follows Dr. Inifinity La Coste as he observes a connection between two people who inhabit parallel universes named Red and Blue, the only living (or sane) inhabitants of their respective universes.
Meet the Forgewild Team
Max Smith
Founder | CEO (He / They)
With a vision for building inclusive narratives from the Global South, our CEO and Founder brings a blend of theatrical expertise and fearless leadership. A screenwriter and playwright at heart, they balance big-picture storytelling with a 'chaos gremlin' energy that sets the tone for our entire media ecosystem.
Westley Smith
Founder (He / Him)
Westley holds an Honours degree in Theatre Making and has a deep passion for visual storytelling. With work showcased at the South African State Theatre, he continues to explore creativity as both an artistic outlet and a way to uplift, entertain, and connect with others. An enthusiastic collector of hobbies (crocheting, photography, and an ever-growing obsession with Dungeons & Dragons since 2024) he embraces each as an avenue for worldbuilding, collaboration, and joyful escapism. Even so, he balances his imaginative pursuits with a grounded, realist approach to everyday life.
Above all, he hopes his work creates spaces where people can relax, have a good time, and walk away feeling just a little bit happier.
MEG OLDMAN
Founder (She / They)
The team’s North American contingent and former English Lit Professor, Meg is the crew’s in-house researcher, technical support, administrative assistant, and “hey, I know a guy” person. She has been a storyteller since childhood and has been playing DnD since the early aughts. She has a deep love of character creation and writing dialogue.
Her favourite cryptid is the Squonk and she wants to be Baba Yaga when she grows up.
Calvin Gentz
Born and raised amidst the stunning landscapes of Cape Town, I've been a lifelong adventurer in the realms of Dungeons & Dragons, ever since I was a child. The rich tapestry of Forgotten Realms lore has always captivated my imagination, and I find immense joy in bringing those worlds to life as a Dungeon Master.
By trade, I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, and I love to infuse my artistic skills into my games. Whether it's designing custom maps, crafting unique character sheets, or creating visual aids to enhance the immersion, I believe that aesthetics play a crucial role in elevating the tabletop experience.

Welcome to caldora: campaign One
"We do not live on a world. We survive a violent rebirth."
Welcome to Caldora, a brand-new Dungeons & Dragons Actual Play set in a newly formed visceral, shattered world where survival isn’t granted—it is bled. Descend into the Obsidian Cradle, a sunless, volcanic nightmare crushed beneath the heavy iron and suffocating laws of the Tenfold Covenant. Here, magic isn't a scholarly art; it is a radioactive scream tearing through reality. Can the castoffs and exiles survive the pressure, or will they be ground into dust by the empires that paved over the bleeding remains of the Ever-Heart?
Fan Art Submissions.
In the cooling shadows of the Obsidian Cradle, your vision is a vital resource. We are officially opening the floor for Fan Art Submissions to celebrate the outcasts, exiles, and entities that define Forgewild’s first season. If you’ve captured the rhythmic dissonance of Regis or the elemental tragedy of Kellan’s seared Cridhe Heart, we want to see it. We are looking for original, high-immersion works that mirror the gritty and visceral tone of our universe. Use the Google Form below to send us your pieces and join the narrative archive of Caldora. Only in the deep—and in the community—are we all truly one.
